Jin Shin Jyutsu
The art and physio-philosophy of getting to know yourself
What is Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu literally means ‘man, creator, art’ and is based on our own innate ability to bring ourselves into balance. For centuries, traditional cultures have used this wisdom to heal both themselves and others. But with the succession of the generations this power became increasingly obsolete and was eventually forgotten. In the beginning of the 20th century Jin Shin Jyutsu was rediscovered by a Japanese sage, Jiro Murai. He has dedicated his entire life to reviving the Jin Shin Jyutsu art, which can be considered the “Grandmother of Acupuncture” and is the origin of contemporary Reiki.
Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizes body, mind and consciousness equally and has come forth from deep wisdom. It belongs to our inner knowing and can be experienced and applied by everyone.
What does energy do
We live thanks to the energy that flows through our body and constantly recharges us. This energy keeps us energetic and healthy. Fatigue and illness can come because the energy no longer flows easily through our body. Body and mind become out of balance and ailments and diseases arise. The basis of Jin Shin Jyutsu consists of 26 energy points, which are distributed throughout the body. When we touch these energy locks with our hands, we bring the energy in motion and with that ourselves in harmony. Almost all energy pathways also go through the fingers and can therefore be harmonized. We only need our hands and our breathing to start the energy flow. Jin Shin Jyutsu can in many ways bring back the movement in blockages of the energy system. Precisely because Jin Shin Jyutsu is such a soft and simple way to get back in balance, it is suitable for almost everyone.
You can easily treat yourself
In general, the flowing of Jin Shin Jyutsu is experienced as very pleasant. An attractive aspect of Jin Shin Jyutsu is that you can do a lot yourself to keep your own energy system vital and flowing. In painful places we intuitively put all our hands, where the hands serve as ‘starter cables’ to support the energy flow. The easiest thing is to hold your fingers regularly one at a time. This not only harmonises everything in the physical field, but also helps to soften strong emotions, worry, fear, anger, sadness and insecurity
